EV chargers

Most Level 2 home installations run between $1,200 and $2,500, depending on the cable run, whether a panel upgrade is required, and local permit fees. You receive a fixed-price quote after a free load assessment, with ESA inspection included.

Yes. Any hardwired EV charger or new 240V circuit must be installed by a licensed electrical contractor and filed with the ESA for inspection. GTA Electric handles the permit, install, and inspection.

Not always. Many homes with 200A service and spare capacity can add a charger circuit directly; older 100A panels may need an upgrade or smart load management. We confirm with a load calculation during the free assessment.

Yes — Tesla Wall Connectors, NACS, and universal J1772 chargers from all major brands. We can also recommend the right connector for your vehicle and budget.

Home & building automation

Cost scales with scope. A few smart switches or a single smart-lighting room may start around $1,500–$3,000; a whole-home Lutron or Control4 system typically runs from $15,000 upward. We scope a fixed design to your priorities.

It depends on the building and goals. Lutron leads on lighting and shades, Control4 on whole-home AV and scenes, and KNX is an open standard favoured for larger and commercial projects. We are platform-agnostic.

Yes — many systems retrofit using wireless lighting and smart panels without major renovation. New builds get the cleanest result because we wire for it during construction.

HVAC control systems

A straightforward smart-thermostat swap typically runs $150–$400, more if new control wiring (a C-wire) or zoning hardware is required. Multi-zone and commercial systems are quoted per project.

Zoning uses motorized dampers and multiple thermostats to condition areas independently, improving comfort and cutting waste by heating or cooling only the spaces in use — usually worthwhile in larger or multi-level properties.

Yes. We integrate HVAC controls using standard protocols like BACnet and Modbus, so heating, cooling, and ventilation are monitored and optimized from one platform.
